Do you protect your hearing, even from typical household items? Part of my work has included specifying equipment where we review sound data. It has made me very aware of hearing loss. We only have one set of ears, and they are worth protecting! My safety ear muffs are always hanging nearby the kitchen, with my smaller earplugs in a drawer in close proximity.

Using the blender or food processor? Hearing protection. Blow drying my hair on the rare occasion? Hearing protection. Firing up the lawn mower or some other loud equipment? Double hearing protection! Especially when you have on safety glasses or sunglasses some noise will bypass the ear muffs, and it is best to be wearing earplugs too. My hearing is far less aggravated by doubling up, even when vacuuming. Ask anyone who has experienced tinnitus. It is worth protecting those precious ears!
